Service

Precinct 4 Parks offers scout groups the opportunity to earn service project hours.

Badge Earning Opportunities

Many regularly scheduled Precinct 4 programs allow Scouts to achieve requirements for merit badges. A typical staff-led nature walk could cover a multitude of topics, including native trees, reptiles and amphibians, birds, and more!

In addition to nature hikes, Precinct 4 also offers topic-specific programs as well. Some of the most popular programs and activities attended by Scouts include archery, fishing, water ecology, and junior canoe training. While these free programs are open to the general public, our certified instructors ensure that Scout qualifications are met.

Service Projects

Scout groups can earn service project hours through Precinct 4’s park events, cleanup activities, tree plantings, and habitat enhancement.

Previous Scout groups have cleared and built natural surface trails, constructed and installed wooden benches and trash can holders, kiosks, bird houses, and bat boxes in Precinct 4 area parks.
