Name That Flower

This beautiful Texas native is endemic to the Edwards Plateau in West Central Texas. The plant thrives in rock gardens, which mimic its natural habitat. Can you guess what it is?

Reveal:

Penstemon triflorus, also known as Heller’s beardtongue, is a hummingbird magnet with its tall, showy, pink bloom and dark-green, glossy foliage. Although the plant usually flowers in April or May, Heller’s beardtongue usually blooms earlier thanks to Houston’s mild winters.
