Registration required beginning Wed., April 15. Ages 10+.

Face the Challenge

Join Jones Park staff naturalists and volunteer guides as we compete with cities from all over the world for an exciting bio-blitz challenge to find, identify, and document the greatest number of plant and wildlife species. In the 2019 City Nature Challenge, the Houston area documented more than 3,300 species, ranking number one in the United States and Canada! Help us once again take the top spot by participating in bug walks, fishing, and more!

Fish of Spring Creek - 10 a.m.

Learn about local freshwater fish species and then watch the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department reveal what lives in Spring Creek.

Evening Bug Walk - 7 p.m.

Discover nighttime buzzing, chirping, singing invertebrates with a staff naturalist using sampling and catch methods.
