If the Astros winning the world series is giving you baseball fever, you don’t have to wait until next season to get your fix! Dart baseball is going on year-round at Mangum-Howell Center every Monday and Friday at 10 a.m. “It’s just like regular baseball, but instead of hitting the ball and running, we throw darts,” said volunteer Linda Watkins. The game has been going on for at least 20 years at the Center and now the group is hoping to expand. “We’d love to have new players join the group,” said Watkins.

Looking for ways to give back? The Mangum-Howell Center’s Doss Advisory Council is sponsoring a holiday food and toy drive. A collection barrel will be placed in the Center lobby from Wednesday, Nov. 1 to Tuesday, Dec. 12. Nonperishable food items such as canned vegetables, fruits, meats, juices, and cereals are welcome. Visitors are encouraged to make their donation during the annual holiday luncheon Tuesday, Dec. 12. All food donations will go to the food bank at Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM).
