Capital Improvement Projects Update Bookmark

Two new mobility projects are underway in northern Harris County. Huffmeister Road will be extended between West Road to State Highway 6. Planned improvements include installation of a four-lane concrete boulevard section with drainage, traffic signal installation on West Road at Huffmeister, and traffic signal modifications at SH 6. New Funding Source to Benefit Historical Marker Program
The Harris County Historical Commission (HCHC) may soon get a boost from a new nonprofit that will help fund the agency’s historical marker program and educational displays. Once approved, the Friends of the Harris County Historical Commission will be able to accept monetary and physical donations benefitting the historical commission. Donors may also be eligible for tax deductions or credits for their contributions. Currently, contributions are limited because the historical commission is a Harris County

Debris Removal Hotline Still Active
Precinct 4 continues to make progress on debris removal for the nearly 11,000 homes that flooded across the precinct. With the first of three passes complete, debris removal crews are now beginning their second pass in Precinct 4’s flood-affected areas. Although crews required three weeks to clean up after the Tax Day Floods last year, Precinct 4 and its partners are now removing the same amount of debris in two days. To date, crews have removed nearly 500,000 cubic yards of debris from Precinct 4 neighborhoods.
