The Pelican Brief is a 1993 American legal-suspense thriller based on the novel of the same name by John Grisham. The film tells the story of Darby (Julia Roberts), a young law student, whose legal brief about the assassination of two Supreme Court justices makes her the target of killers. She realizes just how accurate her accusations are when her life is threatened. Darby runs away and eventually turns to the only person she can trust – a newspaper reporter (Denzel Washington) who is determined to find out the truth and save her.
