Mangum-Howell Center’s March Special Events Calendar

Mangum-Howell Center’s free intergenerational programs are part of Harris County Precinct 4 Commissioner R. Jack Cagle’s educational and recreational commitment to Harris County residents. Mangum-Howell Center is located in Doss Park at 2500 Frick Road, Houston 77038. Harris County Precinct 4 programs serve people of all ages regardless of socioeconomic level, race, color, sex, religion, national origin, or physical ability. Anyone requiring special assistance to participate in any program should contact Mangum-Howell Center. An adult must accompany children under the age of 18. Childcare is not provided at any Precinct 4 facility and children are not allowed in classes in which they are not eligible to participate.

April Trips Sign Up
Thursday, March 9 at 8:30 a.m.
Sign up is on a first-come, first-served basis. Transportation is provided for individuals 50 years and better through Harris County Precinct 4’s Senior Adult Program. Buses will pick up and drop off participants at the Center for the following April trips:

  • Friday, April 7 at 8 a.m. — Tour of Painted Churches and Potters Country Store, Schulenburg. The cost is $14 per person; lunch is on your own at Oakridge Smoke House. 
  • Saturday, April 22 at 8 a.m. — San Jacinto Festival and Reenactment, La Porte. The cost is $2 per person; lunch is on your own at the festival. 

Sassy Red Hatters
Tuesday, March 14 at 1:30 p.m.
The Red Hat Society is a global society of women that connects, supports, and encourages women in their pursuit of fun, friendship, freedom, fulfillment, and fitness. The Mangum-Howell Sassy Red Hatters are an active, fun-loving group of ladies, ages 50 and better, who follow this mission statement! They meet the second Tuesday of every month immediately following the Center’s monthly luncheon to plan a variety of day trips and social events. If you are looking for a “sassy” way to enrich your social life, attend the monthly meeting.

Thursday, March 16 at 1 p.m.
Each player is asked to bring a nominal prize (not to exceed $5). Please note: No cash prizes, gift certificates, gift cards, lottery tickets, or U.S. postage stamps may be used as prizes.
