Precinct 4’s Senior Adult Program Offers Trip to Spindletop-Gladys City Boomtown Museum Bookmark

Precinct 4’s Senior Adult Program invites all senior adults ages 50 years of age and better to the Babe Didrikson Zaharias Museum and the Spindletop-Gladys City Boomtown Museum Wednesday, March 29 at 8 a.m.

Precinct 4’s Senior Adult Program invites all senior adults ages 50 years of age and better to the Babe Didrikson Zaharias Museum and the Spindletop-Gladys City Boomtown Museum Wednesday, March 29 at 8 a.m.

The Babe Didrikson Zaharias Museum holds the awards, records, and achievements of this local Olympic gold medalist. The Spindletop-Gladys City Boomtown Museum is an outdoor museum giving visitors a glimpse of the historic Spindletop oil field and recreated Gladys City. It features a gift shop, historical, period reenactments, and a replica of the wooden oil derricks that filled Spindletop Hill in the early 1900s. The tour ends with a re-enactment of the famous Lucas Gusher that blew at Spindletop on Jan. 10, 1901. Lunch will be available for purchase at Floyd’s Cajun Seafood and Steak House.
