Harris County Precinct 4’s Senior Adult Program Hosts Senior Health and Fitness Week

Enjoy archery, bowling, yoga, and more during Precinct 4’s Senior Adult Program’s Senior Health and Fitness Week Monday, April 30 to Friday, May 4. Everyone 50 and better is invited!

Free activities take place at various locations throughout the precinct to promote healthy lifestyles for senior adults at any fitness level.

Bowling at Max Bowl in Humble. Monday, April 30 at 11:30 a.m. Lunch is provided. Transportation is available from the following locations at 10:45 a.m.:

• CHI St. Luke’s- The Vintage Hospital, 20171 Chasewood Park Drive, Houston
• Fairbanks Library, 9600 West Little York, Houston
• Kingwood Community Center, 4102 Rustic Woods Drive, Kingwood
Scavenger Hunt in the Park at Big Stone Lodge. Tuesday, May 1 at 9 a.m. Join staff naturalists for a scavenger hunt along the Spring Creek Greenway. Call 281-350-1029 to register.

Senior Health and Wellness Fair at CHI St. Luke’s Health - The Vintage. Tuesday, May 1 from 11 a.m.to 1 p.m. CHI St. Luke’s offers health screenings and question and answer sessions with doctors from various specialties. Join the group for a tour of the walking paths. Lunch is provided by CHI St. Luke’s Health- The Vintage. Transportation is provided from the following locations at 10:30 a.m.:

• Humble Civic Center, 8233 Will Clayton Parkway in Humble
• Spring Cypress Presbyterian, 6000 Spring Cypress, Spring
• Copperfield Church, 8350 Highway 6 North in Houston

Archery Lessons at Spring Creek Park.
Wednesday, May 2 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Archery equipment and lunch is provided. Transportation is provided from the following locations.

Laughter Yoga at Big Stone Lodge. Wednesday, May 2 at 1 p.m. Join Houston Laughter Yoga founder and instructor Lainie Diamond for a stress-reducing therapy that requires no yoga mats or on-the-floor exercises. Call 281-350-1029 to register.

Senior Health and Fitness Showcase at Mangum-Howell Center. Wednesday, May 2 at 10 a.m. Get back on the path to an active, healthy lifestyle with this half-day program. Call 281-591-7830 to register. Activities include the following:

• Chair volleyball at 10 a.m.
• Lunch with a nutritionist at 11:30 a.m.
• Stimulate your brain with origami at 1 p.m.

Senior Health and Wellness Fair at Memorial Hermann Greater Heights. Thursday, May 3 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Memorial Hermann Greater Heights offers health screenings and question and answer sessions with doctors from various specialties. Join the group for a low-impact Tai Chi demonstration. Lunch is provided by Memorial Hermann Greater Heights. Transportation is provided from the following locations.
