Mercer Botanic Gardens Opens West Side Arboretum

Mercer Botanic Gardens is proud to announce the reopening of the West Side picnic and playground area. Visitors are invited to stroll the trails under the dense pine canopy of the arboretum or enjoy a picnic in the park.

The arboretum on the west side of Aldine Westfield features two playgrounds, a picnic area nestled in a woodland setting with 58 picnic tables, two barbecue pavilions, hickory bog, boardwalk, cypress swamp, maple collection, and several miles of walking trails that wind through beautifully preserved greenspace.

While the botanic gardens on the east side remain closed, staff are working to reopen the gardens and resume onsite programming as soon as possible. Stay tuned for more updates! Fall and winter operating hours of 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. are now in effect. Some trails on the west side will remain temporarily closed until repairs can be completed. Visitors are advised not to go around barricades.

Mercer is located at 22306 Aldine Westfield Road, Humble, TX 77338.
