Mangum-Howell Center Accepting Reservations

Looking for a place to host your private event?

Rooms at Precinct 4’s Mangum-Howell Center and Doss Activity Building at Doss Park are now available for weekend reservations on select Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Built for large events, Mangum-Howell Center’s Room 102 can accommodate a maximum of 200 people with a table and chair arrangement or 300 people with theater-style seating. Visitors will have access to a full kitchen, tables and chairs, audio/visual and sound system equipment, and restrooms. The lobby area will be available for pass-through traffic only.

Reservations start at $470 for the general public and $270 for nonprofits with an IRS Determination Letter. A $400 damage deposit is also required.

Doss Activity Building can accommodate a maximum of 100 people with a table and chair arrangement or 140 with theater-style seating. The building comes with access to a small kitchen, tables and chairs, and restrooms. Audio/Visual and sound system are not available.

Reservations start at $355 for the general public and $175 for nonprofits with an IRS Determination Letter. A $300 damage deposit is required.

Both reservations require a security fee starting at $35 per hour. Users must contact Captain Vasquez of the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office-Parks Division at jj.vasquez@cd4.hctx.net to arrange for security and payment.

Additional charges and cleaning fees may apply if cleaning takes more than four hours. To check availability, please call or go to the Center. Appointments are required to tour Mangum-Howell Center for private event reservations.

Community and civic organizations can reserve meeting rooms at Mangum-Howell Center or Doss Activity Building, if space is available, at no cost Monday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Fridays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

To schedule an appointment, please call 281-591-7830. Payment of the Reservation Fee, Cleaning Fee, and Damage Deposit must be made in person to the office staff at the Community Center in Doss Park.
