Big Stone Lodge’s August Calendar Bookmark

Releasing Pain. Wednesday, Aug. 9 at 2 p.m. Learn how to naturally and gently release pain with Dr. Louise Hayes from the Brain Growth and Repair Center at Big Stone Lodge in Dennis Johnston Park. Hayes will demonstrate ways to cultivate the healing powers of the brain to target areas of discomfort. Call 281-350-1029 to register.

Southern Floral Company. Thursday, Aug. 10 at 9 a.m. Trip sign-up is on a first-come, first-served basis at Big Stone Lodge. The cost is $2 per person. Lunch is on your own at Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar. Transportation is provided for individuals 50 and better through Harris County Precinct 4’s Senior Adult Program. A Harris County Precinct 4 bus will pick up and drop off participants at Spring Baptist Church, located at 633 E. Louetta Road in Spring.

Trip Sign Up. Tuesday, Aug. 15 at noon. Sign up is on a first-come, first-served basis. Transportation is provided for individuals 50 and better through Harris County Precinct 4’s Senior Adult Program. A Harris County Precinct 4 bus will pick up and drop off participants at Spring Baptist Church, located at 633 E. Louetta Road in Spring, for the following September trips:
• Wednesday, Sept. 13 at 9 a.m. – Spindletop Gladys City Boomtown Museum, Beaumont. The cost is $4 per person. Lunch is on your own at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store. 
• Wednesday, Sept. 20 at 8 a.m. – George Ranch Historical Park, Richmond. The cost is $10 per person. Lunch is on your own at Gringo’s Mexican Kitchen.

Cruising the Caribbean Luncheon. Friday, Aug. 18 at 11:30 a.m. Big Stone Lodge invites the community to a carefree Caribbean luncheon. Catfish on Wheels will provide all-you-can-eat catfish, shrimp, French fries, hush puppies, coleslaw, beans, dessert, and unlimited iced tea and coffee. A $12 per person suggested donation is requested and payable in advance during registration. Come by the Center Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to get tickets no later than Wednesday, Aug. 16.

Washington on the Brazos State Historical Site Trip. Wednesday, Aug. 23 at 8:30 a.m. Trip sign-up is on a first-come, first-served basis at Big Stone Lodge. The cost is $6 per person. Lunch is on your own at Chappell Hill Bakery and Deli. Transportation is provided for individuals 50 and better through Harris County Precinct 4’s Senior Adult Program. A Harris County Precinct 4 bus will pick up and drop off participants at Big Stone Lodge, located at 709 Riley Fuzzel Road in Spring.

Texas United States Constitution. Thursday, Aug. 24 at 1 p.m. Learn about the Texas Constitution with a representative from the Harris County Attorney’s Office at Big Stone Lodge in Dennis Johnston Park. They will illustrate how this unique document establishes the structure and purpose of the state government. Call 281-350-1029 to register.
