A variety of fishing programs are designed to teach kids fish identification, angler ethics, knot tying, fish habitats and other essential angling skills.
Fishing in Jones Park is permitted on the banks of Spring Creek only, and compliance with state fishing laws is enforced by game wardens. Late winter and early spring are successful times for catching white bass and crappie; catfish can be caught year-round.
Periodically, Jones Park offers the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department’s Junior Angler Workshops and Wal-Mart’s Kids All-American Fishing Derby.
For more information on these fishing programs, please contact Jones Park.
