According to The National Arbor Day Foundation, Arbor Day is a nationally-celebrated observance that encourages tree planting and care. Jones Park is hosting its own Arbor Day Celebration in January, and volunteers are encouraged to participate as well as volunteer their time.
On the Saturday and Sunday coordinating with Jones Park’s Arbor Day celebration, visitors can choose a free sapling from a selection of native trees, and volunteers are needed to help monitor the tree give-away.
