Private Reservations

Community Centers and Activity Buildings

Precinct 4’s community centers and activity buildings can be reserved for private functions. To check an available date, please call or go to the community center or activity building where the reservation/event will be held. Reservations made in person at a community center have priority over phone inquiries, and are handled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Since the precinct does not charge constituents to use the rooms, only two reservations per family are allowed in a one-year period at Crosby and May Community Centers. Only one reservation per family is allowed at Mangum-Howell Center in a one-year period.

Private Reservation Hours

Fridays from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. or 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Closed Sunday

All private reservations have a five-hour time limit, and reservations are required.

  • Reservations can be made as early as five (5) months in advance and must be made a minimum of 10 working days prior to the requested date of the function/event.
  • Reservations are limited to a total of five (5) hours between the hours of 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. or 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. However, Friday evening reservations are only a four (4) hour period from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • At the completion of the event, all tables/chairs must be put away, the room cleaned, and the premises vacated. The rooms cannot remain set up for any purpose. There is a one-hour break between all reservations, and unfortunately, no all-day reservations are permitted.

In preparation of community holiday events, private reservations requests are not accepted at Precinct 4 community centers during November and December. However, Mangum-Howell Center accepts private reservations requests for the Doss Activity Building (DAB) only.

To Confirm a Reservation

Within five business days of confirming a reservation date and time with a center staff member, the reserver must appear in person at the facility to:

  • Present a $125 damage/security deposit check, dated the day of the event, and made payable to Harris County Precinct 4.
  • Provide a photocopy of the reserver’s valid Texas driver license.
  • Initial, sign, and receive a copy of the reservation policies for usage of Harris County Precinct 4 community centers and the activity building. This process may take up to 30 minutes.
