A meeting of the Commissioners Court of Harris County, Texas will be held in the Courtroom of the Commissioners Court of Harris County, Texas, on the ninth floor of the Harris County Administration Building, 1001 Preston Avenue, Houston, Texas, for the purpose of considering and taking action on matters brought before the Court. Enjoy a fun-filled day of educational, family friendly activities in one of Harris County’s most beautiful parks! Visit recreated confederate and union camps to learn about Civil War era lifestyles. Also take guided tours to discover the history of the recently discovered Spring Creek Park Cemetery. The festival will feature Civil War battle re-enactments, cultural demonstrations, food trucks, archaeology digs, and more! This is a FREE event.

Join certified instructor Tricia Thibodeaux as she leads T’ai Chi, a moderate stretching and toning exercise. Originating in China as a martial art, T’ai Chi means the “supreme ultimate fist.” T’ai Chi encourages awareness and natural relaxation while improving balance, coordination, flexibility and centering.

Volunteer instructor Juana Hernandez combines Latin and International music with a fun, calorie-torching, strength-training, and effective dance workout that is great for the body and mind. Aerobic attire is recommended. The class is limited to participants ages 13 and older. All participants under the age of 18 must present their Student I.D. or other proof of age.

Volunteer instructor Stephanie Clark leads this exercise class that promotes physical awareness and mental discipline while building symmetry and coordination in the body. Most people who practice Pilates experience improved range of motion, flexibility, circulation, posture, and abdominal strength as well as decreases in back, neck, and joint pain. Comfortable exercise clothing and a thick yoga mat are required for maximum comfort.
