Matzke Park, a 20-acre facility, includes a multiuse trail with water fountains, rest room facilities, four soccer fields, one cricket field, an all-inclusive barrier-free playground, two picnic pavilions, one gazebo, and a butterfly and sensory garden. Recent additions include a multipurpose building with a public rest room, staff office, garage, and three equipment and supplies storage rooms for the Cy-Fair Youth Soccer, Triggers Cricket Club, and ABCS/Norchester Garden Club. Each of the clubs donated $5,000 to provide the equipment and supplies storage rooms. Additionally, a second parking lot on the west side of the park is now available to visitors near the playground, rest room, and picnic areas.
In 2007, the Norchester Garden Club partnered with the Association for Better
Community Schools (ABCS), The Home Depot, and Westco Grounds Maintenance Co., Inc. to develop the butterfly and sensory garden. ABCS and Norchester Garden Club also provided a gazebo and benches throughout the garden.
