Summer is finally here, so surf over to the Mangum-Howell Center and join in the fun! For lunch, Catfish on Wheels is serving all-you-can-eat fried catfish and shrimp, French fries, baked beans, coleslaw, hushpuppies, and unlimited iced tea and coffee. Then, make your own ice cream float or sundae as Donna B, one of the most popular entertainers on the Opry circuit, performs all your favorite country and western songs! Mark your calendar and join is for a great time of fellowship, food, and fun!

Summer Movie Nights in the Park is the perfect chance to relax and enjoy a special night under the stars. Blankets, lawn chairs, and picnics are welcome! Arrive early for the best viewing opportunities and to enjoy the pre-movie special activity for all ages.

Mercer Botanic Gardens invites children ages 6 to 12 to explore plants through the ages during its Botanical Time Tunnel Summer Camp, held Tuesday, June 20 to Friday, June 23 for children ages 6 to 8 and Tuesday, June 27 to Friday, June 30 for children ages 9 to 12 from 9 a.m. to noon.

A suggested donation of $30 per child is requested to cover the cost of materials, which is due at the time of registration. Space is limited, so make a reservation today by calling 713-274-4166.

Volunteer instructor Stephanie Clark leads this exercise class that promotes physical awareness and mental discipline while building symmetry and coordination in the body. Most people who practice Pilates experience improved range of motion, flexibility, circulation, posture, and abdominal strength as well as decreases in back, neck, and joint pain. Comfortable exercise clothing and a thick yoga mat are required for maximum comfort.
